April 24th, 2007

Finally after all of this we finally get to start the framing. Sunroc held us up two days on getting the floor trusses and my framer finally got to start putting them in today. They are supposed to have most of the walls on the main floor up on the 25th and 26th and then we have a 3000 lbs steel beam for the garage coming in at 7:00 am Friday morning. They should be able to wrap the first floor Friday and then they are going to try and get two crews on Saturday and get the second floor done Saturday.

April 16-19th, 2007

The underground plumbing went in on the 13th. Yet again the building inspector wanted me to clean out all the small rocks and dirt we had placed in order to support the pipes and bring in several loads of gravel in order to make a suitable bed for the pipes. Of course we had to have him come back out and re-inspect. The basement and garage slabs finally went down on the 19th.

April 11th, 2007

Foundation walls were poured. The local building inspector would not allow the foundation because we were two inches over the 15 foot setback. I had 6 concrete trucks waiting and the concrete pump. To make a quick fix and not have to move all of the wall forms I decided to changed one wall in the garage to a 45 deg. corner to gain the extra two inches. I was not going to send back 6 trucks of concrete!!!

Excavation started for new home in Cedar Hills.
